Carlos Medeiros President of the board of IPI Consulting Network

With more than 30 years of academic research, and consultancy experience in social development, economic growth, innovation, and creativity industries, was responsible for managing the Portuguese Government Arts & Crafts / Small Retail Business Program, from 1992 to 1996. Carlos Medeiros has lectured at various universities in Portugal, USA, and Brazil, and was the Founder and Director of Studies Centre of Portuguese Expression Folk and Culture of Catholic Portuguese University. He is the author of more than 50 papers, and was the Director of the magazines “Raiz e Utopia” and “Folks and Cultures” of CPU.

He also is the Executive Chairman of the Board of two tourism and leisure firms, since 1987.

Mr. Medeiros has a DPhil from London School of Economics, a law bachelor’s degree from The University of Lisbon and a social and political sciences bachelor’s degree from The University of Lisbon.

António Pinheiro is Vice-President of the board of IPI Consulting Network

His knowledge of Portuguese economics was built over three decades in senior government roles, such as Subdirector-General between 1989 and 1998, and Director-General between 1998 and 2001, of the Portuguese Directorate General for Economic Activities, as well as Principal Technical Advisor of Industrial Policy and State Aid to Companies, in the Permanent Representation of Portugal to the European Union, between 2001 and 2008.

Mr. Pinheiro’s past work experience allowed him to develop and hone his expertise in sustainable development, economic growth, particularly in employment and microenterprise development, innovation, and clusters.

Mr. Pinheiro holds an Engineering Bachelor’s Degree from IST in Lisbon.

Raul Jorge is the Vice-President of the board of IPI Consulting Network

Mr. Raul Jorge is a retired associated professor from Instituto Superior de Agronomia, where he developed his career as a professor in agronomic economy, and agronomic policies and rural development. Also taught in Nova School of Business and Economics, where he collaborated with several PALOP universities. 

Professor Raul started his career as a fellow researcher in Instituto Gulbenkian da Ciência, and worked as researcher in Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IISA, Austria). Expert in policy modelation connected with agricultural sector, was a consultant for Agriculture and Rural Development of several governments, and became part of the expert’s team of PAC post-2013. He is the chief of Tropical Studies Centre for Development of Agronomic High Institute, where he has been taking part in several cooperation programs with PALOP. 

Raul Jorge is an Agronomic Engineer with a PhD and a degree of aggregation by Agronomic High Institute of Lisbon University, and Master in economics by Nova School of Business and Economics.

Catherine Ledig is Member of the Board of IPI Consulting Network and has more than 20 years of experience in programmes in different areas, with special focus on Information and Communication Technologies sector, and Innovation and Development Entrepreneurship. 

Catherine Ledig works in management of information systems, processes of electronics businesses, business management, and management of international projects. 

She has been having an important role in coordinating studies on active ageing economy in Alsace region (France). Since 1994, she has also been the head mistress of ADEC, an association of economic development specialized in information technologies, sustainable development, and renewable energies. 

Catherine Ledig is associated professor of Digital Economy and Sustainable Development in Law faculty in Strasbourg University.
