IPI is in the partnership, led by the Municipality of Setúbal and joining eight partners, including also Setúbal’s Polytechnic Institute (Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal) and Arrábida’s Energy and Environment Agency (Agência de Energia e Ambiente da Arrábida), that has submitted an application to the Sustainable Urban Development initiative launched by the European Commission.

The application, submitted under the Urban Poverty theme, was framed in the European Commission concern regarding this subject, which believes that “poverty has a huge impact upon cities, whether through the costs it generates in terms of lost productivity and lost contributions to the public purse, or through its side effects”.
